Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (KTOS) said Friday it chose Odon, Indiana, as the site for a new facility dedicated to testing materials for hypersonic systems.

The center will use arc jet and laser equipment to evaluate materials under extreme heat, helping shift laboratory research into active military deployment, the company said.

The aim is to address domestic infrastructure shortages and expand the overall evaluation capacity for the defense sector, Kratos said.
