B&G Foods (BGS) reported Q1 adjusted earnings late Tuesday of $0.08 per diluted share, up from $0.04 a year earlier.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected $0.05.
Net sales for the quarter ended April 4 were $408.9 million, down from $425.4 million a year earlier.
Two analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $398.8 million.
The company now expects fiscal 2026 adjusted diluted earnings of $0.58 to $0.68 per share on net sales of $1.74 billion to $1.78 billion, up from the prior forecast of adjusted diluted earnings of $0.55 to $0.65 on net sales of $1.66 billion to $1.70 billion.
Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect $0.63 and $1.75 billion, respectively.
Shares of B&G Foods rose about 12% in after-hours activity.
