1251 ET - The Supreme Court ruling that federal law doesn't protect C.H. Robinson from being sued for choosing an unsafe trucking company is a negative for brokers and could result in further consolidation of the industry, Stephens says in a note. The ruling exposes brokerages to higher insurance and claim costs, with the greatest pressure on smaller, poorly capitalized companies. C.H. Robinson says it was disappointed but respects the decision. Shares were recently down 0.5% after dropping as much as 7.9% earlier. (mark.long@wsj.com)
