Henderson Land Development (HKG:0012) secured biodiversity loans from HSBC (HKG:0005) and Hang Seng Bank (HKG:0011) to support sustainability initiatives at its Central Yards project on the New Central Harbourfront, according to a Wednesday press release.

The facilities will fund biodiversity-related measures at the mixed-use development, including the planting of more than 400 trees and other native species, smart systems for urban forest management, and biodiversity monitoring and assessments.

Central Yards will feature more than 300,000 square feet of multi-level open green spaces, including an elevated sky garden spanning about 160,000 square feet.

The first phase of the development is scheduled to open in the second half of 2027, while the second phase is expected to be completed in 2032.
