Albertsons (ACI) said Wednesday it is launching the Intelligent Quality Control tool, an AI-backed project to allow its distribution centers to maintain quality standards for fresh fruits and vegetables.

The tool was built by Albertsons technology and supply chain teams and uses Alphabet's (GOOGL) Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise, the retailer said.

The tool is now being used in some Albertsons distribution centers to inspect strawberries and red and green grapes, the company said, adding it plans to expand its use nationwide and add more fresh products.
