Estrella Resources (ASX:ESR) declared a maiden inferred mineral resource of 621 million tonnes at its Werumata limestone project in East Timor, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.

The resource contains 493 million tonnes of high-grade limestone suitable for sale as an acid neutralization agent at an average acid neutralization capacity of 83.2%, 33 million tonnes of lower-grade limestone suitable for industrial uses at an average acid neutralization capacity of 35.6%, and 95 million tonnes of high-silica material suitable for road paving, construction aggregate, road base, and rock

fill, with an average silicon dioxide content of 58%.

Open-cut mining is the only economically feasible extraction method, and all three products are direct shipping ores that require only crushing and screening.

Its shares rose over 2% in recent trading on Thursday.
