Bentley Systems (BSY) will deploy its Blyncsy road monitoring technology across 5,000 kilometers of roadway in the Western Cape province of South Africa, using computer vision to detect infrastructure issues, the company said Tuesday.
The system uses crowdsourced dash camera imagery and machine learning to identify issues including damaged guardrails, missing street signs, faulty streetlights and debris, the company said.
The financial terms of the partnership with the Western Cape Government were not disclosed.
Shares of Bentley Systems were 1.1% higher in early trading.
