If all goes according to plan, SpaceX's IPO paperwork could be made public this afternoon and contain more information on these key questions:

-- How does SpaceX make its money? SpaceX makes its money from subscriptions to its Starlink satellite internet service, rocket launches to put satellites and astronauts in space, as well as national security contracts to build and launch satellites.

-- Who are SpaceX's largest investors? Its largest outside investor is Google. Its board members and larger investors include Valor Equity Partners, Gigafund and Future Ventures. It also has money from marquee VCs Sequoia and A16Z. The filing could also have information on who will hold so-called "supervoting" shares beyond founder and CEO Elon Musk.

There are also key questions the filing is unlikely to answer, including SpaceX's IPO valuation and how much each share will cost. These details typically don't come until closer to the offering, which is expected around June 12.
