South Korea's Kospi Could Mark 11000, Nomura Says -- Market Talk

0757 GMT - South Korea's benchmark Kospi could reach a high of 11000, Nomura analysts say in a research note. The boom in memory chips and related suppliers are expected to drive Kospi's earnings, which could surge 200% this year and 29% next year, said analysts led by Cindy Park. They expect AI-driven earnings growth to generate sustainable returns on equity for the next five years. Stronger stewardship and listed companies' shift toward greater capital efficiency, shareholder returns and optimal leverage should lift their price-to-earnings and price-to-book multiples. Nomura raises its Kospi target to 10000-11000 from 7500-8000. (kwanwoo.jun@wsj.com)
