0956 ET - Kohl's shares rose 18% in morning trading after the retailer reported quarterly results that were better than analysts expected. That said, the results were still fairly dismal. Sales have declined for four years, falling 1.7% in the recently completed period. Moreover, areas that previously boosted sales, like Sephora shops in Kohl's stores, are now lagging. Kohl's said it's working to address those challenges by adding more newness like Korean skincare brands. (suzanne.kapner@wsj.com)
