ASX's Margin Ambitions Look Hard to Achieve -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
05/27

0058 GMT - It is hard to see ASX holding sticking to its medium-term margin ambitions, Macquarie analysts warn. The Australian market operator is targeting improved Ebitda margins but the investment bank's analysts remain skeptical about its chances of success. They tell clients in a note that the company's FY 2027 total expense guidance was 12% worse than prior consensus. They expect ASX to fall short of its additional capital targets in 2H FY 2027 even with payouts at the bottom end of its target range for the next three dividends. Macquarie cuts its target price 7.7% to A$54.00 and stays neutral on the stock, which is down 7.6% at A$47.15. (stuart.condie@wsj.com)
