0013 GMT - IDP Education's new bear at Macquarie warns of near-term earnings pressure from weak visa volumes, currency headwinds and policy on foreign students. Lowering their rating to underperform from neutral, one of the investment bank's analysts tells clients in a note that they see risk to the student-placement provider's FY 2026 Ebit guidance. They also think consensus for FY 2027 EPS is about 20% too high, and anticipate downgrades. There is some potential upside from the rollout of English-language testing in China, but that is unlikely to offset pressures elsewhere, they add. Macquarie cuts its target price 57% to A$2.32. Shares are down 17% at A$2.22. (stuart.condie@wsj.com)
