Applied Materials (AMAT) is looking to increase its Southeast Asian workforce by 1,000 employees this year, Nikkei Asia reported Wednesday, citing an interview with Brian Tan, Applied Materials' president for the region.
Tan told the news outlet that the additional hires are planned mainly for the company's operations in Singapore.
Applied Materials did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for a comment.
