Enveric Biosciences (ENVB) said Tuesday it started genotoxicity studies for its primary drug candidate, EB-003, to prepare for an investigational new drug filing.

The laboratory assessments will determine if the compound alters DNA or triggers genetic mutations, the company said.

The evaluations feature standard safety checks to ensure compliance with international health regulations, it said.

Shares of the company were up over 2% in Tuesday premarket activity.
