1023 ET - Dollar General scooped up more market share during the recent quarter, CEO Todd Vasos says on a call with analysts. The discount-retailer grew both its dollar and unit sales, with particularly outsized gains coming from highly consumable products, he adds. The gains came amid "an environment where customers are feeling more pressure on their household budgets," Vasos says. "We believe this market share growth reflects the essential role Dollar General serves, particularly in small town communities across America." Shares are down 3.1%. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
