DBV Technologies (DBVT) has screened the first participant in a phase 2 study evaluating the Viaskin Peanut patch in infants with peanut allergy aged 6 to 12 months, the company said Tuesday.
Participants will receive daily treatment with the peanut patch for 36 months, while maintaining a peanut-free diet, DBV technologies said.
After 36 months, participants will undergo a peanut food challenge to determine their treatment regimen for the next 12 months. Depending on the results, some participants will discontinue the patch during the peanut consumption period, while others will continue treatment, the company said.
Shares of the company were down over 3% in Wednesday premarket trading.
