BioCryst Pharmaceuticals' (BCRX) Orladeyo was associated with "early and sustained reductions" in hereditary angioedema or HAE attacks, demonstrated by new clinical data from the ongoing APeX-P study, the company said Friday.

Updated analysis of 48-week data from the study showed that Orladeyo treatment reduced HAE attack rates that require on-demand treatment and attacks that require professional care, without significant safety concerns, BioCryst said. The study assessed patients aged 2 to less than 12 years old.

BioCryst also reported new data from its phase 1b/2 study of navenibart in HAE, demonstrating reductions in overall HAE attack rate. The analysis supports the ongoing phase 3 trial of navenibart as a potential long-acting therapy for the broad HAE patient population, the company added.
