SpaceX (SPCX) raised $2.2 billion from Japanese investors as part of its global share offering, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing a regulatory filing.

The report said the company allocated 16.3 million Class A shares to investors in Japan, representing about 3% of the shares offered.

SpaceX had targeted raising between $2 billion and $2.5 billion from Japanese investors, who were among a limited number of retail investors allowed to participate directly in the offering, alongside investors in Australia, Canada, and parts of Europe, according to Bloomberg.

It added that Mizuho Financial Group (MFG) managed the Japanese portion of the sale through its brokerage network and partner online platforms.

SpaceX did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
