Generac Shares Rise on Expanded Generator Packaging Capacity from New Facility

Generac shares climbed after the company said it has bought a new facility in Belvidere, Ill., significantly expanding its packaging capacity for large-megawatt generators.

The stock rose 4.6%, to $274.35, in premarket trading Monday. Through Friday's close, shares have more than doubled in value over the past year.

The provider of backup power generation didn't disclose terms of the deal. It said the investment builds on the company's ongoing efforts to scale its commercial and industrial business.

"As demand for reliable backup power continues to grow--particularly from data centers and other mission-critical industries--expanding our capacity to deliver large-megawatt solutions is essential" said Erik Wilde, president of Generac's domestic commercial and industrial business.

The company said the new facility will support its recent acquisition of Enercon Engineering, expanding capacity for enclosure assembly and final packaging, as well as delivering more shipment-ready units to customers.

The Belvidere facility is strategically located, providing direct access to major interstate systems and enabling efficient transport of large-scale equipment, Generac said. It will add more than 100 new jobs when it opens in the first quarter of 2027.
