Teledyne Technologies (TDY) said Monday it has launched Black Recon, a vehicle-integrated micro-drone system designed to provide continuous surveillance without operators leaving their vehicles.

The company said the system can autonomously launch, recover and recharge up to three drones in rotation, enabling near-continuous reconnaissance.

Each drone carries thermal and visual sensors, operates in GPS-denied environments, and can conduct radio-silent missions using onboard navigation systems, the company said, adding that the drones have flight times of up to 60 minutes and speeds of up to 25 m/s.

Black Recon is also compatible with the Black Hornet 4 nano-drone and supports future mission modules, including sensor and CBRN payloads, Teledyne Technologies said.

In addition to military use, the company said the system is intended for border security, infrastructure monitoring, maritime patrol and public safety operations.

Black Recon is available for order, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2027, it added.
