Newmont (ASX:NEM) named Mark Rodgers as its chief operating officer, effective July 1, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.

Rodgers has more than 30 years of experience in the mining sector and is currently the managing director of Newmont's Africa Asia Pacific business unit.

The company also appointed Brian Tabolt as chief financial officer, and David Thornton as chief technical officer, also effective July 1.

Tabolt most recently served as Newmont's chief accounting officer, while Thornton is currently the company's managing director for the Americas.
