Oncolytics Biotech (ONCY) said Tuesday it has received a US patent covering pelareorep manufacturing process into 2044.

The firm also said it plans to file additional patent applications this year to expand intellectual property protection for pelareorep across additional therapeutic uses and treatment settings.

Oncolytics is developing pelareorep, an investigational intravenously delivered ribonucleic acid immunotherapeutic agent.

Shares were 5% higher in morning trading.
