Morningstar Farms recalled a Buffalo Chik'n Nuggets product and a Hot & Spicy Sausage Patties item due to possible plastic pieces.

In December, Morningstar became part of Mars Inc. via the $36 billion purchase of Kellanova.

The nugget recall is for UPC code 000 28989 10110 5, with Better If Used Before dates of July 7, 2027 and July 8, 2027. The recalled Hot & Spicy Sausage Patties have UPC code 000 28989 10094 8 and dates of July 5, 2027, July 6, 2027 and July 7, 2027.

As of 2024, Morningstar had the largest U.S. retail market share for meal alternatives, according to Circana, with Impossible Foods in second place. In April, Morningstar said it launched Royal Thai Curry Patties for foodservice and Away From Home channels.
