CarMax CEO Sees Room for Improvement -- Market Talk

9:18 ET -- Keith Barr, who assumed CarMax's top role in March, says he has identified several areas in which the used-car retailer isn't living up to its full potential. "Our core operations are not yet fast and efficient enough," he says on a call with analysts Wednesday. "Retail prices and selection must continue to improve, and our costs remain too high." At the same time, the company's digital experience is too complex and not connected well to the in-person experience, which itself has pain points that need to be addressed. The good news, Barr says, is that all of these problems are addressable: "We know exactly what needs to change and we are moving forward with urgency." (connor.hart@wsj.com)
