CarMax shares fell more than 7% in morning trading after the used-car retailer reported quarterly earnings and its new CEO said the company's operations aren't efficient enough and costs remain too high.
The stock has lost about a quarter of its value over the past year amid stagnant sales and intensifying competition. CarMax said it will work to implement its turnaround efforts in coming months, including keeping vehicle prices competitive, enhancing its digital platform and in-store experience, and reducing costs.
