Clorox Refreshes Up Leadership Team Ahead of CEO's Exit

Clorox appointed Chris Hyder as its chief operating officer, effective immediately, in an effort to streamline its leadership structure.

The promotion of Hyder, previously president of the Health & Hygiene group, would unite business unit leadership responsibilities under a single executive, Clorox said Wednesday.

The company also said that Nina Barton, currently president of the Care & Connection group, will move to the new role of chief growth & strategy officer. She will oversee the company's product portfolio, strategy, and innovation.

The leadership changes come after Clorox Chief Executive Officer Linda Rendle said last month she would step down to focus on her health. Rendle said she had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer but is currently cancer-free.

The company's board is working with an outside firm to select Rendle's successor.

"This refined operating structure will help us move faster and deliver stronger results as we continue to focus our investment behind faster-growing health and hygiene categories," Rendle said.
