Edgewell Shares Rise After Bloomberg Reports Co Rejected Takeover Offer

Shares of Edgewell Personal Care climbed after Bloomberg, citing sources, reported that the maker of Schick razors rejected an unsolicited takeover offer from private-equity firm Yellow Wood Partners.

The stock rose 10%, to $24.99, in premarket trading Tuesday. Through Monday's close, shares have gained 33% since the beginning of the year.

Edgewell's board considered the offer, at $30 a share, too low, Bloomberg said late Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Representatives for Edgewell and Yellow Wood declined to comment to Bloomberg, and didn't immediately respond to requests for comment from Dow Jones Newswires.
