Verastem Reports Positive Early Data for KRAS Cancer Drug VS-7375

Verastem Oncology reported positive early-stage data for its experimental cancer drug VS-7375, which is being developed to treat cancers driven by KRAS G12D mutations.

The company said the drug showed anti-tumor activity in patients with pancreatic, colorectal and lung cancers, while maintaining a favorable safety profile.

Among pancreatic cancer patients receiving a higher dose of the drug, 93% saw a significant reduction in a key tumor marker, according to the company.

Verastem said side effects were mostly mild gastrointestinal issues, such as nausea and diarrhea, and generally improved after the first treatment cycle.

The company also said it plans to evaluate VS-7375 in combination with an experimental cancer treatment being developed by Erasca.

Verastem expects to provide another update on the program later this year.
