Acuity Shares Jump on Higher 3Q Results

Shares of Acuity climbed after the company reported higher sales and sharply higher profit in its fiscal third quarter.

The stock was up 18% to $360.46 late Thursday morning. Shares are up 33% over the past three months.

The industrial-technology company reported net income of $141 million, or $4.56 a share, compared with $98.4 million, or $3.12 a share, a year earlier.

Adjusted earnings were $5.31 a share. Analysts polled by FactSet had been expecting $5.17 a share.

Sales rose 1.6% to $1.2 billion. FactSet analysts expected sales of $1.18 billion.
