Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi agreed Thursday to deepen cooperation in semiconductors, critical minerals, AI, clean energy, and pharmaceuticals.

Both sides condemned economic coercion and pledged to build resilient supply chains while expanding joint R&D, talent exchange, and technology development, according to a joint declaration by the two nations.

They also committed to institutionalizing economic security dialogues and coordinating on disruptions from geopolitical tensions.

The partnership aligns their Indo-Pacific strategies to strengthen regional economic resilience through G7, G20, and Quad frameworks.
