Consumer stocks were edging higher premarket Tuesday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) up 0.8% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) advancing by 0.4%.

Smurfit Westrock (SW) has partnered with Coca-Cola (KO) China to launch paper-based packaging solutions for the brand's World Cup campaign, intended to be available across both retail and e-commerce channels, Smurfit said. Coca-Cola shares were up more than 1% pre-bell.
