Alarum Technologies (ALAR) shares sank 52% amid heavy trading after the company reported Saturday a temporary operational pause of certain network services following an incident affecting the network.

More than 3.47 million shares of the company traded intraday compared with a daily average of about 79,000.

Solstice Advanced Materials (SOLS) has agreed to acquire specialty chemicals technology firm Element Solutions (ESI) in a deal worth $14.5 billion, strengthening its electronics platform and exposure to artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Shares of Solstice declined 15% as intraday trading volume catapulted to over 7.75 million from a daily average of about 1.98 million.

Genuine Parts (GPC) has received a cash bid for its auto-parts business from O'Reilly Automotive (ORLY), Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter. O'Reilly Automotive's potential acquisition of Genuine Parts automotive business at a valuation of $10 billion or more could provide greater scale and geographic reach, though the strategic merits remain unclear, UBS Securities said.

Shares of O'Reilly fell 5.5%, with an intraday trading volume of over 7.83 million from a daily average of about 6.81 million.
