Coffee Pares Gains After Largest Rally Since 2000

1636 GMT - Coffee prices fall after notching their sharpest one-day rise since July 2000 on Monday, as supply concerns mount. Heightened fears around the impact of the El Nino weather system is generating a reallocation of funds to agricultural commodities, says Steve Pollard, analyst at Marex. Moreover, concerns around the impact of recent rains on the timing and quality of Brazil's 2026 crop have tightened selling, Pollard says, reducing supply to the market. Coffee falls 8.9% to $3.19 a pound, after jumping 16% on Monday to close at $3.50. (josephmichael.stonor@wsj.com)
