Shares of Cboe Global Markets rose after the exchange operator reported June and second-quarter trading volumes that set records across its options venues.

The stock gained 5.9%, to $259.41, early Tuesday afternoon and is up 3.4% this year.

The global markets operator said total options activity reached a quarterly average daily volume of 21.9 million contracts and a monthly ADV of 23 million, including a June 5 single-day record of 33.4 million contracts. Multi-listed and index options average daily volume rose 41% and 37%, respectively, from a year earlier.

Proprietary index options posted records across measures, including an overall quarterly ADV of 6.2 million, a single-day record of 7.8 million on June 5 for S&P 500 Index options and a monthly ADV record of 3.3 million for S&P 500 Index zero-days-to-expiry options.

Month over month, index options ADV rose 5.6% and multi‑listed options ADV increased 4.1%. U.S. on-exchange equities ADV climbed 19.8% from May, while off-exchange equities matched-share ADV rose 3.1%.
