The European Commission is seeking feedback on a package of concessions that healthcare group Sanofi has offered to end a competition investigation into the company.

It comes after the European Union's executive arm started investigating Sanofi in June over concerns it unfairly pursued a campaign to disparage a rival flu vaccine by portraying it as inferior to its own Efluelda. Sanofi said in September 2025 the commission raided its premises over antitrust concerns.

The commission said that Sanofi offered to publish statements on its French and German websites acknowledging assessments of the vaccines carried out by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and national immunisation technical advisory groups, and to avoid portraying rival CSL Seqirus's drug Fluad negatively, or claiming that Efluelda is safer or more effective. The company's commitments would be in effect until March 2030, the EU said.

"Sanofi remains confident that it has acted, and continues to act, in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including competition law," a company spokesperson said, adding that Sanofi will continue to cooperate with the commission.

The regulator set an Aug. 21 deadline to receive feedback on the offer.
