Shares of Forte Biosciences rose after the company said a placebo-controlled study in vitiligo showed meaningful improvement within about two months and that gains continued through six months, even after dosing ended.

Shares were recently up 38% at $28.40 in late Thursday morning trading. The stock has more than doubled over the past year.

Forte said its antibody, FB102, produced a 29.6% average improvement from baseline at week 24 versus placebo in the main analysis, with statistically significant gains observed by day 64 and continued improvement after dosing stopped. In patients with more extensive disease at the start, the average improvement was 43.2%, and more than half reached at least a 50% improvement by week 24.

The company said side effects were mild to moderate and compared favorably with placebo. Forte described FB102 as a monoclonal antibody that blocks CD122 to modulate IL-2- and IL-15-dependent T-cell activity while preserving regulatory T cells.
