Cal-Maine's (CALM) founding Adams family sold about $320 million of its controlling stake last April, the Financial Times reported Thursday.

Cal-Maine shares roughly doubled from about $45 in June 2022 to around $95 in March 2025, allowing the family to sell nearly 3 million shares at $92.75 each after converting its super-voting stock into common shares, according to the report.

The US Department of Justice and 17 state attorneys general had alleged Cal-Maine and rivals coordinated bids and trades to influence the Urner Barry egg price benchmark.

Cal-Maine did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
