Apple (AAPL) was the fastest-growing major PC vendor in Q2, while HP (HPQ) and Dell (DELL) saw shipments decline, Omdia said Thursday.
Apple shipped 7.3 million units, up 15.9% year-over-year, and increased its market share to 11.1% from 9.2% a year earlier, the research group said.
HP shipments fell 9% to 13 million units, while Dell declined 4.9% to 9.3 million units, it said. Lenovo remained the market leader with 16.6 million units shipped, it added.
Overall global PC shipments dropped 3.6% year-over-year to 65.7 million units as rising memory and storage costs pushed up prices, Omdia said.
