Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (KTOS) said Tuesday that it has won $400 million in funding from the US Department of Defense for hypersonic system and national security programs.

Work on the project will take place at private secure sites and federal government installations, and the company will not release additional details regarding the contracts due to security and competition concerns, Kratos said.

Shares of the company were up more than 3% in recent Tuesday premarket activity.
