Shyam Metalics and Energy's (NSE:SHYAMMETL, BOM:543299) step-down subsidiary, SMEL Steel Structural, has started commercial production at its aluminium foil facility in Odisha, India.
The Sambalpur city-based facility has an installed capacity of 18,000 tonnes per annum, producing premium-grade aluminium foils with thickness ranging from six microns to 40 microns, according to a Thursday Indian bourse filing.
Additionally, an aluminium flat-rolled products facility, with a planned capacity of 60,000 tonnes per annum, is in the final readiness phase and is expected to begin commercial production by September.
