Zijin Mining Group (SHA:601899, HKG:2899) has initiated lithium concentrate exports from its Manono operation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with all cargoes destined for China, Reuters reported Thursday, citing five sources close to the matter.
The outbound shipments commenced in June as scheduled, though current volumes appear limited, the newswire said.
The company aims to reach 30,000 tons of lithium carbonate equivalent from the site this year, Reuters added.
Zijin did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
