Market Chatter: TSMC Refuses to Comment on Report of Raising Chip Prices by Up to 10%

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing or TSMC (TPE:2330) declined to comment on a Nikkei Asia report, which cited unnamed sources as saying the chipmaker plans to raise prices by up to 10% for advanced and mature-node chip production services in 2027 following discussions with customers.

The publication said the planned increases would vary by customer and product, and will reflect higher costs associated with materials, manufacturing equipment and overseas capacity expansion.

In response to a request for comment from MT Newswires, TSMC said it does not comment on pricing and reiterated that its pricing strategy is strategic rather than opportunistic, adding that it will continue to work closely with customers.
