T-Mobile US stock was sliding on Thursday after the wireless carrier reported softer-than-expected second-quarter revenue, overshadowing an earnings beat.
Shares fell 4.2% to $183 ahead of the opening bell. Futures tracking the S&P 500 were 0.5% lower as fears of higher inflation rattled the market.
T-Mobile reported adjusted earnings of $2.99, as revenue climbed 7.9% from a year ago to $22.8 billion. Analysts were expecting earnings of $2.54 a share on revenue of $22.9 billion, per a FactSet poll.
The company added 277,000 net postpaid subscribers over the period, a touch above the 268,300 additions that Wall Street was looking for.
T-Mobile also said it now expects full-year adjusted free cash flow of between $18.4 billion and $18.8 billion, up from prior guidance of $18.1 billion to $18.7 billion.
The company is the second of the big three wireless carriers to report this earnings season. AT&T also beat on earnings but missed on revenue. Verizon is due to post its own results before Friday's U.S. open.
