Surgery Partners to Sell Ownership Interests in Two Hospitals for $795 Million

Surgery Partners plans to sell its ownership in Mountain View Hospital and Idaho Falls Community Hospital in a deal which will see a total consideration of about $795 million for them.

The surgical facility operator said Friday it would sell its stake to Intermountain Health.

The deal, which is set to close in the coming months, values the two facilities at about $1.15 billion.

The sale is part of the company's effort to streamline its portfolio and simplify operations.

Surgery Partners expects to receive cash proceeds from the deal, though it didn't disclose an exact figure. The company said it could also update its full-year guidance based on the sale, but for now maintained its outlook excluding any effect.

Surgery Partners is scheduled to report quarterly earnings on Aug. 10.
