Horace Mann Educators (HMN) and Medical Mutual of Ohio said late Tuesday they have struck a deal for Horace Mann to acquire employee assistance provider, Employee Services, through the acquisition of ESI membership interests.

Horace Mann will also buy an individual supplemental platform through the acquisition of Reserve National Insurance Company and reinsure MedMutual Life Insurance Company's group life and disability business while Medical Mutual of Ohio will retain the legal insurance entity, according to the release.

The deals are expected to be immediately accretive to Horace Mann's core EPS, it said. The ESI deal is expected to close in Q4, and the others in Q1 of 2027.
