Singapore's core consumer price index (CPI), which excludes accommodation and private transport costs, rose 1.6% year over year in June, according to joint data released by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Ministry of Trade and Industry on Thursday.

The reading compared with the 1.4% pace recorded in May. It came in line with the consensus forecast of 1.6% tracked by Investing.com.

Meanwhile, headline inflation (CPI-All Items) accelerated to 1.9% from 1.8% in the previous month, driven primarily by higher accommodation inflation alongside a pickup in food, services and retail & other goods inflation.

MAS and MTI said MAS Core Inflation and CPI-All Items inflation are projected to average 1.5% to 2.5% in 2026, as elevated global energy prices gradually pass through supply chains
