Shares of Badger Meter after the global water technology company reported a decline in its second quarter revenue and operating earnings.

The water quality monitoring company's stock was down 15% to $124.45 in recent trading, and fell 30% since the start of the year.

Revenue fell 7% to $222.3 million. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $220.6 million.

Operating earnings declined 12% to $39.4 million.

Badger Meter reported net income of $29.7 million, or $1.02 a share, compared with $34.6 million, or $1.17 a share, a year earlier.

Chief Executive Kenneth Bockhorst said the company's pipeline of awarded projects is expected to ramp up in the second half of the year. He added that since closing the acquisition of UDlive, it has made progress in its integration efforts, and initial commercial interest has been strong.

Bockhorst said he anticipates an improvement in revenue run-rate in the back half of the year, with full-year revenue, excluding acquisitions, to be nearly flat compared with 2025.
