ASMPT (HKG:0522) appointed Bassel Haddad as group chief executive officer and executive director, effective Aug. 11, according to a Tuesday Hong Kong bourse filing.

Haddad joins the semiconductor equipment maker from SkyWater Technology, where he served as senior vice president and general manager of Foundry Solutions and Technology Platforms. He succeeds Robin Ng Cher Tat, who will retire as group CEO on the same date.

Shares of the company jumped nearly 5% in recent trade.
