Shutterstock to Suspend Future Dividends

Shutterstock is suspending its future quarterly dividends as part of a review of its capital allocation strategy.

The decision from Shutterstock's board "reflects its ongoing review of the Company's capital-allocation priorities and its focus on deploying capital to support long-term value creation for shareholders, including reducing debt, minimizing related interest expense and strengthening financial flexibility."

The suspension comes after chief executive, Paul Hennessy, stepped down last week. Getty Images also called off its planned $3.7 billion merger with the company earlier this month after a U.K. regulator imposed conditions on the would-be deal.

Shares of Shutterstock fell 8.8% to $6.73 in after-hours trading on Wednesday. The stock closed up 1.5% at $7.38, down 61% this year.
