Reddit posted higher second-quarter profit as growth in the platform's users continued to boost advertising revenue.

The company reported net income of $253 million, or $1.25 a share, up from $89 million, or 45 cents a share, the year prior. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $1.01 a share.

Revenue rose 61%, to $805 million, fueled by a 64% increase in advertising revenue. Wall Street expected revenue of $731 million, according to FactSet.

The San Francisco company said the higher advertising revenue was driven by growth in pricing and impressions.

Daily active uniques rose 18%, to 130.3 million, bolstered by 28% growth internationally.

The company guided for third-quarter revenue of $860 million to $870 million. Analysts expected third-quarter revenue of $828.4 million.
